In May 2021, Amanda Shaw — New Orleans fiddler, vocalist, and all-around force — performed a porch concert at the CR Coffee Magazine Street location for Give NOLA Day. The annual day of giving supports nonprofits across the New Orleans area, and the Amanda Shaw Foundation was the beneficiary.
The concert took place on the Magazine Street patio with the string lights and willow trees as the backdrop. It was a soulful session — Amanda performing for the Garden District neighborhood with Coast Roast coffee flowing inside. The kind of evening that could only happen in New Orleans.
Amanda Shaw has been a guest on the Coffee with Kevin YouTube show and is part of the extended CR Coffee community. Supporting local musicians and nonprofits is part of how the shop operates — not as a marketing exercise, but because Kevin and Ashley believe a coffee shop should be a platform for the community it serves.
Give NOLA Day happens every spring. CR Coffee has participated by hosting events and supporting local organizations since opening the Magazine Street flagship.
